Investors 1st ProjectsIn recent years, the CFA Institute has undertaken a significant number of projects in the interest of serving investors. While it is common to think only of direct investors — the buyers of financial products — when thinking about investors, it is just as important to protect indirect investors — those who don’t make buying decisions but are directly impacted by such decisions – including pensioners, taxpayers, and others – for these people, it is their money that is being invested by others.

The CFA charter sets the standard for investment practice and is a globally recognized benchmark for ethics in the profession. Fifty years since its introduction, there are more than 109,000 charterholders (individuals who passed all three rigorous exams, met the four-year work experience, met the other requirements, have pledged to uphold the Code of Ethics & Standards of Professional Conduct, and maintain their membership in good standing) in 139 countries and territories – representing the highest professional standards and competencies in the global investment community.
